Playing: Under 12's

Winners Stockport Festival 2006The majority of the team have now been together since U11 and has some fine players together with an excellent unified bond. Playing wise we win 75% of our games and enjoy playing a strong fixture list. We won the Stockport Festival as U10’s and again as U11’s, whilst we have been Cheshire Festival finalists but yet to lift the coveted Trophy!

The object of the game at under 11 age group is to score a try (5 points) and conversion (2points). Conversions are always taken from in between the posts, rather than where the try was scored. Teams will be made up of 12 players, with 5 in the forwards and 7 in the backs. The forwards consist of 2 props and a hooker in the front row, with 2 2nd rows: the backs have a full line up of 2 half backs, 2 centres 2 wings and a full back. A drop kick is used to stat and restart the game after a score or half time. The fully contested scrums are five man each, with noStockport Festival Winners 2005 pushing more than 1.5 metres or wheeling more than 45 degrees. Line-outs are 4 men each and whilst contested, no lifting is allowed at this level. A player must not hand-off or fend-off an opponent in an way. Kicking is introduced at this age level, but only out of hand, i.e. no fly kicking when the ball is on the floor. A size 4 ball is used and matches must not exceed 40 minutes in total, with the pitch being 60m x 45m.
