Welcome to the website of Altrincham Kersal RFC.

Altrincham Kersal RFC is one of the most progressive and ambitious rugby clubs in the North West of England. In the last 11 seasons, the club, at 1st XV level, has risen from level 10 to its current level 6 after recently enjoying four years at level 5. Despite this rapid elevation, the club still maintains the values of traditional rugby in a true ‘family’ atmosphere.

The club benefits from one of the strongest Mini and Junior sections in the North of England with over 350 playing members. Last season, the Cheshire Cup was won by the Under 17’s (Junior Colts) and Under 19’s (Senior Colts) with the Under 13’s and Under 15’s losing their respective Cheshire Cup Finals. Another truly remarkable season for the Mini and Junior section following success in the Cheshire Cup for the Under 7’s, 11’s, 12’s and 14’s the previous year not to mention the Junior Colts who reached the National Final for the first time in the club’s history.

The Altrincham Kersal Women’s team also continue to be a dominant force in the Greater Manchester area, having won the RFUW Championship North 2 league unbeaten in the 2007-08 season.

All abilities and levels are catered for with 4 Senior XV’s all playing in competitive leagues, the 2nd XV, 3rd XV and 4th XV playing in the Miller Homes Leagues, Division 1, 4 South and 5 South respectively. The club also has a long-standing social tradition with regular events, a Sportsman’s Dinner and the now infamous End of Season Ball where over 400 club members dance the night away.
